Big Bear is a great place to spend the holidays.  Halloween provides the crisp cool air and gorgeous color changing trees allowing the fall feeling to embrace you.  For those who enjoy celebrating the Halloween holiday, there are come great things to remember in Big Bear.  Our family enjoys going to the village early, as the village shops open, our kids are able to trick or treat in their costumes before it gets too dark.  This is a free event and an experience in many different ways.  Starting at 4:30, the village shops open to share the holiday with trick or treaters young and  old alike.  There are over 50 merchants who pass out candy and hundreds who join in the fun.  Local restaurants are open to enjoy a delicious dinner or stop by the Copper Q for your favorite hot drink.  Our family will be at El Jacalito enjoying some delicious Mexican food while our kids and their friends trade each other ensuring that they all got their favorite candies and treats.

There is more than just the village opening its doors for families to spend the day, Fox Farm and Maple Ridge are two communities that provide more of a traditional door-to-door experience.  Maple Ridge is located just across from the High School on Maple Lane.  This is a newer home tract getting together to share  and create memories for all.  Fox Farm is known to be generous with candy, it does get busy so be prepared to walk a short way.  This is a favorite spot for the kids and many spend the entire evening here.

If you are looking to get a bag full or treats, enjoy time with family and friends or simply to people watch, Big Bear is a wonderful place to spend Halloween!
